The Purple Rose of Cairo

These are the variations of "The Last Rose of Summer" hearts I made in September. After that, I learned the mixed beads bag was named "Egyptian". So this time I have named these hearts "The Purple Rose of Cairo".

This is the title of Woody Allen's film. And also it's the title of the film in the film. Maybe the purple rose is a symbol of dream we can never catch. It's difficult for me to explain the whole story in English. Anyway it's a fantastic love story, one of my most favorite movies.

Both hearts are lovely. Are the little gold roses fargo roses?

I have spent many a pleasant hour this weekend exploring your blog. I think that your embroidery is lovely and I am most interested in your insights to Japanese culture and thinking.

I have never done Crazy Quilting and did not know that textile artist were keeping blogs on their progress. This has been an inspiration to me.

I have tried to leave one or two comments but am not sure is they have worked so I hope that this one does. ( I work wtih computers all day, so this should be simple for me, but for some reason I am dumbfounded by it).

I think that the hearts and round robins, and other swaps that you all share are a lovely idea. I had no idea
that this sort of community existed. I can see that you all get a great deal from it. Happy stitching to you and your friends. (I hope this comment works even if the others haven't)

Regards, Coral-seas
